Istanbul-based design firm, Escape from Sofa was commissioned by Onur Group, to design their new offices in Ankara, Turkey.

The design team’s vision was to create a space with contemporary aesthetics and an inviting atmosphere, especially since the building itself offered a modular and flexible usage of space.

A variety of materials were specified that all blend together to bring the 1000 sqm workplace to life. Through the use of textures and patterns throughout the space there is a rich palette while the colour choice is more monochromatic.

Barbo Design undertook the fit-out with both open and private working areas configured in a geometric and circular layout to create a flexible space, with flooring playing a crucial role in determining the shift between the areas.

Through our aligned dealer AGK Yer Kaplamalari, we supplied style Graph in colour Shadow from Rapid Select - which is part of our ‘In Stock’ programme. Graph features prominently throughout the floorplate.

The project was a Finalist in the mid-sized office category in Shaw Contract’s Global Design Awards 2020. The Judges’ commented that the design firm did an amazing job taking a neutral palette and focusing on design, saying “they found a way to weave it together masterfully. You’re going to talk about this project.”
