Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore

Design Inspiration of the newly refurbished hotel is bright, refreshed, warm and welcoming – smart casual yet sophisticated and eclectic. The design is inspired by geometric shapes, grids, pattern and colors. It has a subtle showcase of art pieces that represents a fuss-free travel experience with a sense of fun. Some examples include the reception counter made out of old-fashioned luggage, a bike as the table legs in Jen’s Kitchen On-The-Go and some vintage bikes that have been renewed and hung on a feature “trick eye wall”. These features reflect the service style of the client – casual and fun, yet professional. Design in Guest Room The fundamental guest room design is to maximize space and efficiency. While aesthetically appealing, the room is also extremely functional. The designer incorporated an integrated compartment feature – a storage area, closet, luggage rack, personal fridge and bar counter that all fit perfectly in one area. Design in the Club lounge required a design that can serve breakfast in the morning, casual dining throughout the day, and cocktail hour in the evening while also functioning as a reception area. The designer clustered the long and linear lounge into different sections. The “food section” is given a fresh and clean look with white marble top and wooden farm table serving stations. The “main section” is filled with proper dining tables and chairs accompanied by a centipede-like pendant light feature above. Lastly, the “lounge section” is fitted with colorful and edgy furniture that sit on a denim herringbone carpet to add complexity and contrast.

For a machine made carpet flooring of a hospitality project. Durability and quality are the Keys. There's no doubt that Shaw's products can meet the standard. But beyond on that, the advantages on Shaw are the variety on their product range and their flexibility to compromise to the designers' intent. For example in the club lounge at L17. Shaw has unique design like Patcraft Denim 00450 that can match on a herringbone flooring geometry. The denim look also create a great contrast with the wood and gives a modern & edgy touch but still look sophisticated. While for the typical corridor. Shaw's team shows their flexibility to provide the designer a customized version on their general products. Great efforts are shown to get the proportion of the pattern and colours right.
