Interiordesign for the study Aeronautical Services and the Study Hospitality & Tourism for Albeda Co

Interiordesign for the study Aeronautical Services and the study Hospitality & Tourism for Albeda College, Rotterdam Education in The Netherlands is changing. Albeda College innovates by making the transition from education to work-life easier. ‘Getting an education in a inspiring and life like environment brings out the best in our students’. For the study Aeronautical Services and the study Hospitality & Tourism we transformed a former gymnasium into a new training facility by building a mock-up off a airplane and a hotel. Two free standing volumes were designed, one round and one square. In this way the former flexible dividing wall could be reused to create a big meeting,- and study room and provides interaction between both mock-ups and the students using it. The ground floor of both volumes house a instruction rooms and a mock-up of a travel agency with both a service and a commercial area. Through a wide staircase you reach a mock-up hotel room with bathroom and lounge and three meeting rooms. The vide gives a nice view of the big hotel service desk.

The square volume contains a realistic high standard hotel area, students are educated in a realistic surrounding. The dye lab tiles contribute to the luxury hotel feeling of an high-end hotel and the dyed amorphous patterns makes wear and tear less visible. The colour chosen, fustic indigo, in combination with high end lightning, has a sparkling appearance.
