School of Rock Santiago

This project is the first academic venue for North American music established in Chile. With a performance-based instruction model, students learn in a rock-and-roll culture inside recording studios, music halls and practice rooms. The school’s technical acoustic requirements posed the biggest challenge. How could designers make acoustic conditioning look cool? Hexagon Linear and Hexagon Linear Shift carpet tiles contribute significantly to the young, fresh vibe, in designs and colors that bring movement and richness to the detailed design. The hexagonal tiles balance out the informal atmosphere with other design elements including container-type sheets, brick walls, wicker, and cement finishes. Graphic elements relating to music transmit the rock culture to users. And in recording studio dedicated to Latin American rock, the richness of the interior sings loud and clear.
