Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator

Designed to inspire and promote work-life balance, Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator is a beacon for entrepreneurship in the region, bringing start-ups from around the world into Kansas City to work on the future of mobile health technology. Reimagining the top floor of the 1903 ice house, the design team created a community space for the entrepreneurial community with private conference rooms, collaboration spaces, pitch areas and a large versatile space that can be set up with desks or event seating. Hexagon carpet tiles ground the permanent areas and blend them into the open, migratory spaces by utilizing a random, gradated pattern that intertwines light and dark colored tiles, creating an element of wonder and way-finding. In addition to the workforce employed for the initial design and construction, the Accelerator houses up to 100 people on a regular basis and maintains a flow of great minds focused on the key pillars of open community forums, entrepreneurial programming, talent and diversity initiatives, investor education and Sprint cultural activities.
