The Hoxton Amsterdam

The objective of this project was to create the Amsterdam version of the Hoxton London. Because of the unique location of this hotel in a monumental building along the Amsterdam canals, the design team made each room into a cozy canal house apartment. In the lobby, locals mix with tourists, people work on their laptops during daytime and drink cocktails at night. Since opening the hotel is always fully booked, and has become a real cultural hub in the city centre. Responding to demand from guests to purchase furniture, lighting and accessories from the rooms, The Hoxton has launched a shop on their website where guests can order almost every product in the room. Even the corridors don’t feel like standard hotel corridors, with custom carpet in a graphic Mondrian style print, one of the most photographed items of the hotel with countless posts on Facebook and Instagram.
